i'll look for any excuse to make a giant pan of strawberry pretzel bars, any excuse.
a salty pretzel crust, sweetened cream cheese and strawberry jello topping. this dessert has summer bbq written all over it.
it also has leftovers for breakfast written all over it too in case you were wondering.
Strawberry Pretzel Barsingredients:
2 cups crushed pretzels
3/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup sugar, divided
12oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup cool whip, thawed
1 tbsp unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 (170g) pkg strawberry jello
2 cups boiling water
4 cups sliced frozen strawberries
preheat oven 350F.
stir together crushed pretzels, butter & 1/4 cup sugar, mix well. press mixture into 13x9-inch baking pan. bake for 10 minutes. set aside to cool.
in large mixing bowl, cream together cream cheese, milk and remaining 1/4 cup sugar. fold in cool whip. pour overtop cooled crust.
dissolve jello in boiling water. add frozen strawberries and allow to set briefly. pour mixture over the cream cheese layer and refrigerate until set.
