with easter around the corner, thoughts turn to creating beautifully coloured easter eggs in favour of family traditions & all things pretty. afterall, how boring would easter be without beautifully hued arrangements of eggs as your centrepiece.
best part is that you don't need to rush out to the store and waste money on purchasing an egg dye kit, you can find all the ingredients you need by simply raiding your cupboards which leaves more money to spend on mini eggs & all things chocolate.
how to make egg dyeingredients:
hard boiled white or brown eggs
in a coffee mug or small bowl, mix 1/2 cup of boiling water with 1 tablespoon white vinegar. stir in food colourings as indicated below.
submerge an egg in the mixture for 3 minutes, turning with a spoon throughout for even colouring. remove and place on a paper towel to dry.
try the same dye on both brown and white eggs to get totally different hues.
