Tomato Medley Salad w/ Basil Buttermilk Dressing

on sunday's we brunch, we hike, we bbq, we wine.

we are good at all four, but i'm better at all of them.

after today's brunch & hike, we were market bound for some fresh produce.   immediately i was drawn to the tomatoes.  cherry, grape, red, yellow, vibrant & beautiful.
 i always let the produce dictate our dinner, if it looks good, it's fresh, that's my inspiration.

and tonight, a lovely blend of tomatoes in a basil-buttermilk dressing is the perfect pair for our BBQ chicken dinner.

tomato medley salad w/ basil-buttermilk dressing

ingredients:
4 cups grape & cherry tomatoes, cut in half if large
1 shallot, diced fine
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh basil, thinly sliced
1/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup sour cream
sea salt & pepper to taste


method:
in small bowl, combine shallot, garlic, basil, buttermilk and sour cream.  set aside.
in large bowl season tomatoes with sea salt and pepper and toss.  add in buttermilk dressing, tossing to coat.  adjust seasonings if needed.


serves: 4
