heritage day at the saskatoon farm
one of my favourite summer traditions is going saskatoon berry picking as a family.
without fail august lends itself to berries ripe for the picking, and my favourite place to go is the Saskatoon Farm on the outskirts of the city.
we always go first thing in the morning before it gets too busy, allowing us to enjoy some quality time in empty fields. this was year was number three for us, making us experts, yes experts. even R knows exactly what berries are going to taste best in the future pie.
this morning we expanded our usual foursome and took my in-laws along for the adventure. despite 'poppa' dropping a nearly full bucket of berries all over the ground, i'd say the morning went off without a hitch.
now to put to use these berries...
