500 Cucina

the stars finally aligned and last night mr. handsome and i went on a double date with our favourite 'just returned from their honeymoon in europe' couple ever.

i initially had reservations made at klein & harris a new restaurant on the yyc scene which i was eager to try out.  however an email from groupon prompted me to change plans since my 500 cucina coupon was set to expire in two days. italian food, family style, it is.

klein/harris is next though...

500 cucina, located at 1003 9th Ave SE in inglewood, was named diner's choice winner in 2015.   with their open concept kitchen and authentic italian food made with a contemporary twist, it was the perfect spot to share dishes, sip on wine, and catch up on what has been way to much time passed between friends.

here's a look into the food & atmosphere

best of the night:  truffle fries, beet salad and rochetta pizza

arancini |  fried risotto balls with gorgonzola cream sauce and finished with truffle oil

500 fries |  fresh herbs, garlic, grated grana padano, and truffle oil

roasted beet salad |  salt roasted beets, goat cheese, walnuts, arugula, finished with fresh mint

rochetta pizza |  tomato sauce, arugula, prosciutto di parma, shaved parmigiano reggiano, truffle oil

diavolina |  tomato sauce, spicy soppresata, spicy capicollo, black olives, jalapeño peppers, mozzarella

gnocchi |  san marzano tomato sauce, fresh basil

gnocchi alla panna |  smoked bacon and fresh arugula in a white wine cream sauce, finished with truffle oil
