Snickers Blondies

Blondies with my blondie...

Today my best fair-haired girl and I had a baking afternoon.  We put on our spiffy aprons, tied back our locks, and got down to baking business.

Blondies.  We're making blondies.  And not just your run-of-the-mill blondies either, these ones are beyond indulgent.  Get ready for it....they are laced with Snickers.  Oy.

With the little man in school this afternoon, I took the opportunity to have a little girl time with R.  We headed out to the grocery store, in search of our favourite aisle, the candy aisle.  Rows upon rows of sweet treats and endless possibilities.  I left the final chocolate bar decision up to R.  And the winner is....Snickers.  This came as no surprise since she is her father's daughter.  So Snickers it is.  Salty and sweet, I don't think I could have picked a better one myself.  Nicely done R.

Happy Friday!  This is more than a welcome start to a fun filled girls night.  PJ party, movie, and now sugar coma.  But first we are going to pawn off some of these treats.  One is more than enough, so pan-full is just asking for trouble.

Snickers Blondies

Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 regular sized Snickers candy bars, chopped

Method:
Preheat oven to 350F.  Line 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
In large bowl, using an electric mixer, mix melted butter and brown sugar.  Beat until smooth.  Beat in egg and vanilla.  Reduce speed and slowly add in flour.  Fold in chopped Snickers.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.  Allow to cool completely in pan before cutting into squares.
