Cured Delicatessen
i was fortunate enough to be extended a lunch invitation to try out a hidden gem in haysboro, Cured Delicatessen.
specializing in wide selection of cured meats, they also offer delicious dine in meals, weekend brunch, and take out options to make dinner at home a breeze.
the rustic, yet modern decor provides a great atmosphere and the large windows offer a bright and airy feel. oh not to mention the owners, Dale & Shaine, are beyond lovely and make you feel right at home the moment you step into the front door.
upon sitting down, Dale brought us a mini butcher's board that he put together which included the famous chocolate chorizo, smoked beef, truffle salami, another salami (that my memory seems to have escaped me) served with two varieties of Smak Dab gourmet mustard; a white wine & herb, and a beer chipotle variety. both of which were delicious, and one of them is now residing on my pantry shelf, eagerly waiting for a sandwich to be slathered on.
then it was time for sandwiches...
i love a good sandwich, this you all ready know to be true. of course i asked Shaine for her two favourites and promptly ordered them, no beating around the bush for this girl. her suggestions were "the belly of the beast" & "the big dipper." and great suggestions they were. hands down, probably two of the best sandwiches i have ever eaten. seriously.
i suspect that since mr. handsome office building is 8 minutes (yes, i timed it) down the road, we will likely be frequenting this place every couple of weeks. can you blame us?
thanks for the hospitality Cured Delicatessen, i suspect we will be seeing a lot of each other.
cheers. xo.
