Angel Food Cake French Toast

let's be real for a minute.
i'm a self proclaimed breakfast purest & connoisseur.
i take the first meal of the day seriously.
especially on weekends.

french toast is one of my favourite things.
crispy & golden, swimming in a pool of syrup and fresh fruit.
i want to wake up every morning to the heavenly aroma as i devour every last morsel on my plate.

but really can you blame me?

today i'm taking a different approach to french toast, ignoring bread entirely, replacing it instead with cake.
angel food cake.
light, airy and perfectly delicious.

cake for breakfast.  the weekend has officially started. xo.
