Cookbook Giveaway: Picture Cook: See. Make. Eat.
when you think of cookbooks, you think lengthy instructions, too many ingredients, and never enough photos. Picture Cook by Katie Shelly is a refreshing change to that idea, offering instead step-by-step, full-colour illustrations in place of text. it's recipes without reading.
"Picture Cook distills every recipe into its most basic component, each step rendered as an enchanting line drawing." it will reinvent how you think about cooking and inspire you to use the ingredients as a "culinary blueprint, meant for improvisation, experimentation and play in the kitchen." after all that's what cooking is all about, use what you like and alter the recipe to fit you.
If you are interested in winning a copy of this inventive cookbook filled with over 50 recipes including omelets, lasagna, and chocolate cake, please leave a comment below or email ediblelifeinyyc@hotmail.com telling me your favourite go-to dish to prepare.
Contest closes Sunday March 23, 2014. (winner will be picked at random and contacted by me for mailing information. best of luck!)

i love this! what a cool idea!
ReplyDeletemy favourite go to recipe is vegan african peanut soup. its so so easy, and delicious, you usually have most of the ingredients kicking around, and anything thats get you eating more kale (without even knowing it) is a double win in my books - http://cookieandkate.com/2013/west-african-peanut-soup/
thanks for sharing jen!
Love the idea of this cookbook! Might actually make it easier for someone like me, who sucks at cooking, to find a love for it.
ReplyDeleteFor lunches my fav go to meals are some of the grilled cheese sandwiches from your blog! The Double Strawberry & Goat Cheese Sandwich and the Sandwich inspired by Pie (I call it Apple Pie sandwich and sub out the Cinnamon Raisin Bread for regular bread but this sprinkle Cinnamon on the apples) are my favourites!!
Our winter go-to meal tends to be a big batch of lentil soup, and in the summer would be cous-cous salad :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway, hope I'm not to late to enter. This cookbook would be a great hit with my girls and I'm sure I could benefit from it too :) My go to recipe is I'm sad to say lasagna. Boring I know, but it's always a hit with my kids.
